D.O.P.E Dog Training works across Cheshire from a base in Macclesfield: the villages along the Peak District edge, the market towns, and the farms and lanes of the Cheshire plain. Wherever you are in the county the format is the same. Private one-to-one sessions, in your own home and on your own walks, with the owner trained alongside the dog.
Cheshire dogs tend to live one of two lives. Some have land, livestock and space, where recall and a settled response to sheep, horses and farm traffic matter more than anything else. Others live on a village street where the walk begins at the front door and every dog in the neighbourhood is met inside five minutes. Both need the training to happen where the problem is, not in a hall.
Country dogs
If your dog lives near fields, footpaths and stock, reliable recall is not a nice extra, it is the whole thing. We build it properly and in order: name response first, then engagement, then distance, then distraction, then the real world with all of it running at once.
Village and town dogs
If your walk starts at a front door on a narrow pavement, the work is doorstep manners, calm lead walking and being able to pass another dog without a scene. Same system, different order.
Where to start
Everything begins with an Assessment. We look at the dog, the household and your routine, then recommend the right level of the D.O.P.E System: eight, ten or twelve one-to-one sessions depending on how much needs rebuilding.

Fitting it around a Cheshire week
Sessions are arranged around your working day, and travelling across the county is normal for us. For clients further out, or for dogs who need concentrated input, residential training removes the travel entirely and hands the dog back with the habits already in place. Home boarding and one-to-one walks are available to dogs already training with us.
