Dog training in Macclesfield.
Private one-to-one dog training for owners who want clearer communication and better behaviour.
Macclesfield
Macclesfield based, so local sessions are easy to arrange and easy to repeat.
One-to-one dog training on your own doorstep.
Macclesfield is home. It is where D.O.P.E Dog Training started in 2019, and it is still where most of our working week is spent: in owners’ houses, in their gardens, and on the routes they walk every single day. Training a dog in the place the problem actually happens is the fastest way to change what happens there.
Every session is private and one to one. No group classes, no waiting your turn, no watching somebody else’s dog get the attention. You get Chris, your dog, and the thing that is going wrong.
Why we train where you live
A dog that behaves in a training hall and then pulls you down the road outside your own front door has not learned very much. So we work in the hallway, at the door, in the garden and on your normal walk, and we teach you to run the session when we are not there. The dog is only half the training session. The other half is you.
Who we work with here
- New puppy owners who would rather start right than undo it later
- Adult dogs pulling on the lead, ignoring recall or reacting to other dogs
- Rescue dogs settling into a new home, a new routine and a new set of rules
- Anxious or reactive dogs who need space, structure and a clear plan
- Working breeds with more drive than the household knows what to do with
- Owners who simply want a calmer house
If you are not sure which of those describes your dog, that is exactly what the initial Assessment is for. We look at the dog, the household and the routine, then tell you honestly what needs to change and roughly how long it will take.
Everything is available locally
Most Macclesfield clients go on to the D.O.P.E System, a structured programme that trains the owner as much as the dog across eight, ten or twelve sessions. Puppy owners usually begin with Puppy Fundamentals or a shorter puppy consultation. Households dealing with something specific go straight to anxiety and reactivity or aggression rehabilitation, and owners of working breeds have their own route through.
Alongside the programmes there are single-subject MasterClasses on lead walking, recall and calm living at home, plus solo training, enrichment sessions, one-to-one walks and home boarding for dogs already training with us. Residential training is there for the cases that need concentrated professional input.
Booking a session
Tell us what is going wrong and we will build the rest around it. Sessions are arranged around your working week, and everything we teach is written so that everyone in the house can repeat it, not just the person holding the lead.
We also work across Cheshire, Manchester and Staffordshire.
